Rich Old Man

The rich old man
Wants nothing at all
But the comfort of his money
Available on call.

He has no lover,
He is far too old
But his bonds and his equities
Warm him in the cold.

He has no tailor
And he buys no gear.
He totals his investments
When he needs some cheer.

He drinks no claret
And he has no friends.
He only talks to brokers
About his dividends.

He owns a Bentley
Which has two flat tyres
But the old man's faxes
They burn up the wires.

Buy Emerging Markets,
Gold is a Sell
And the old man chuckles
When it all goes well.

And the young folk wonder
How they might switch
From poor, young and happy
To greedy, old and rich

Prayer Before The Test

Now I lay me down to study.
I pray the Lord I won't go nutty.
If I should fail to learn this junk,
I pray the Lord I will not Flunk.
But if I do, don't pity me at all,
Just lay my bones down in the study hall.
Tell the teacher I did my best,
And pile my books upon my chest.
Now I lay me down to rest
and pray I'll pass tomorrow's test.
If I should die before I wake,
That's one less test I'll have to take.

Self Management

If we want happiness ,
let's stop thinking
of gratitude or ingratitude

and
give for the inner joy of giving.

I wasn't interested in making a lot of money,
but
i was interested in making
a lot of living.

Two men looked out from prison bars .
One saw the mud,the other saw stars.

Relax ! Relax ! Relax ! learn to relax while you are doing your work !

Crystals, carpets and chandeliers make a nice house
but
only the smiles on the faces of the residents

make it a home.!

It is difficult to worry while you are busy doing something
that requires planning and thinking.

Everybody in the world is seeking happiness
and
there is one sure way to find it.
That is by controlling your thoughts.

Lessons of Life

The happiest of people
don't necessarily have the best ofeverything,
they just make
the most
of everything that comes along their way.

Dream what you want to dream;
go where you want to go;
be what you want to be,
because you have
only one life and one chance to do all things you want to do.

It's true that we don't know
what we'v until we lose it ,
but
it's also true
that we don't know
what we have been missing until it arrives....L'Odyssey 2011..

TEAM WORK

"The time has come once again
To show what we can do
To work together as a team
Not just one or two.
Together we can do anything our hearts desire.
You know we have done it even though we are tired.
So let's look to one another for comfort and cheer
Let's lean on each other as we cry our tears.
Because together we have a goal that we have all set
And that's to be the best team the judges have seen yet.
So let's go out on that floor as a winning team
Let's do what we do best and make that crowd scream.
Because together we can do it.
Together we can.
Together we can be the best team in the land."

        The Wolf and the shepherd

A Wolf had been prowling around a flock of Sheep for a long time,
and the Shepherd watched very anxiously to prevent him from
carrying off a Lamb. But the Wolf did not try to do any harm.
Instead he seemed to be helping the Shepherd take care of the
Sheep. At last the Shepherd got so used to seeing the Wolf about
that he forgot how wicked he could be.

One day he even went so far as to leave his flock in the Wolf's care
while he went on an errand. But when he came back and saw how
many of the flock had been killed and carried off, he knew how
foolish to trust a Wolf as he exclaimed. “I have been rightly
served; why did I trust my sheep to a Wolf?”

Moral:

Delegate your task wisely, and only to people you trust.

Just One

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.

One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal

One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey.
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.

One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true,

One life can make a difference,
You see, it's up to you!

Start Where You Stand

Start where you stand and never mind the past,
The past won't help you in beginning new,
If you have left it all behind at last
Why, that's enough, you're done with it, you're through;
This is another chapter in the book,
This is another race that you have planned,
Don't give the vanished days a backward look,
Start where you stand.

The world won't care about your old defeats
If you can start anew and win success;
The future is your time, and time is fleet
And there is much of work and strain and stress;
Forget the buried woes and dead despairs,
Here is a brand-new trial right at hand,
The future is for him who does and dares,
Start where you stand.

That's Life...

When you say it is simple,
It says - not as simple as you think!

When you say it is difficult,
It says - not as difficult as you think!

When you say it is beautiful,
Giving a healthy challenge,it says - are you sure?

When you say it is pathetic,
Making things easier, it says - chill dear.

When you say you know it well,
It will confuse you and say - you bet!

When you say - has anyone understood you still ?
It will comfort you saying, someday maybe you will !

That's life...

I am not sure whether I know it,
But I sure do love it!!!!!!!!!1

The Road Not Taken

-by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Move on....This is LIFE!!!

When there is no friend,
When life is on the dead end,
When world is not a paradise,
When your confidence dies,
Tell yourself - Go on, THIS IS LIFE!

When things don't go right,
When there is no ray of light,
And its too hard to survive,
Tell yourself - Go on, THIS IS LIFE!

When there is competition to face,
When you are lagging behind in the race,
When you've lost faith in God,
When you're betrayed by a fraud,
Tell yourself - Go on, THIS IS LIFE!

When others don't respect you,
When you're not amongst the admirable few,
When for a question, you can't find a solution,
When all you're sure about, is confusion,
Tell yourself - Go on, THIS IS LIFE!

When your destination is miles apart,
When you don't know where to start,
When all you see around is pain,
When your hard work is in vain,
Tell yourself - Go on, THIS IS LIFE!

Even though all this happens
just have faith in self & face the life
with smile,
things will surely change one day
because as said "THIS IS LIFE ... »

HAVE FUN...

George Bernard Shaw said ; The reasonable man adapts himself to the world the unreasonable one tries to adapt the world to himself.

Therefore, all progress comes from unreasonable people, people who follow their hearts and instructions of their consciences rather than the commands of the crowd.

ALL progress has come from risk-takers and men and women who were willing to visit the places that scared them the most………….

So, don’t fear

just tear the fear

and participate

You Must Not Quit

When things go wrong; as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,
You might succeed with another blow,

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit,
It’s when things seem the worst that you must not quit.

GOSSIPS

Next time someone starts to spread gossip, think of this:

In ancient Greece (469 - 399 BC), Socrates was widely lauded for his wisdom.

One day the great philosopher came upon an acquaintance who ran up to him excitedly and said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about one of your students?"

Wait a moment," Socrates replied. "Before you tell me I'd like you to pass a little test..It's called the Triple Filter Test."

"Triple filter?"

"That's right," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my studentlet's take a moment to filter what you're going to say. The firstfilter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are aboutto tell me is true?"

"No,"the man said, "actually I just heard about it and..."

"All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not.Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my student something good?"

"No, on the contrary..."

"So,"Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, even though you're not certain it's true?"

The man shrugged, a little embarrassed.

Socrates continued. "You may still pass the test though, because there is a third filter - the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my student going to be useful to me?"

"No,not really...."

"Well,"concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even Useful,! why tell it to me at all?"

The man was defeated and ashamed.

This is the reason Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high esteem.

Good Thoughts...................

"You know what radiation, emanation and vibration are. But what you don’t know is that these phenomena are linked to the mind, heart and will. Radiation corresponds to the mind, emanation to the heart and vibration to the will.
The mind radiates – it moves in a straight line. The heart emanates in circular waves. And the will vibrates to left and right, up and down, forwards and backwards.
Radiation is the light that is projected to allow progress and discovery. Emanation represents expansion and giving, with the particles surrounding beings and things with their warmth. And vibration marks the beginning of action.
In radiation there is wisdom. In emanation there is love. In vibration there is strength. And so you can tell how wise people are by the intensity of their radiations. You can feel how loving they are by the nature of their emanations. And you can find out how strong they are by the power of their vibrations."

ICC Cricket World Cup 2011: Past World Cups, Records And Schedule as Countdown Begins

Who will win the ICC World Cup 2011?

One of the biggest sporting extravaganzas, the Cricket World Cup is all set to begin in less than a month. Since 1975, the world cup is being held once every four years and the tenth world cup will see 14 teams playing 49 cricket matches at over a dozen venues across India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 starts with the opening match at Bangladesh's Mirpur on February 19. The matches will be held through out March and the final will played at the historic Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on April 2.

Whether you are Test cricket fan or you find One Day Internationals (ODIs) boring after the advent of T20, the fact is that no one can escape the cricket fever for almost 1-1/2 months.

The World Cup is being hosted again in India. Initially it was supposed to be hosted jointly by India-Pakistan but terrorist attacks particularly the firing on Sri Lankan team forced the authorities to shift matches and give them to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The format includes two groups with seven teams each. Four teams will qualify from each group. These eight teams will play then four matches in the quarter finals. The four winners will then play in the semi final at Colombo and Mohali on March 29 and March 30. The final will be played on April 2.

Group A: Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Canada and Kenya
Group B: England, India, South Africa, West Indies, Bangladesh and Netherland
